Agartala: Tripura CM Manik Saha intervened to secure advanced medical care in New Delhi for 22-month-old Manasree Choudhury, diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) Type 1, a rare, life-threatening neuromuscular disorder. Her treatment is estimated to cost around Rs 18 crore.
Acting on the CM’s directions, Tripura Bhawan in New Delhi mobilised support and began coordinating with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to ensure timely medical evaluation and a treatment plan.
“The welfare of every citizen in Tripura is a priority, particularly during severe health emergencies. The state govt is wholly dedicated to assisting young Manasree’s family and providing all necessary logistical and administrative support during her treatment at AIIMS,” CM Saha said.
The resident commissioner and other Tripura Bhawan officials are monitoring the case and staying in close contact with AIIMS doctors and the family.
