  • Kolkata: Roshni Hamirwasia, a student of Heritage School, has secured top global position in International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) exam, scoring a perfect 45 out of 45 marks.

Balancing a demanding matrix of higher-level physics, chemistry and mathematics along with standard-level English, Spanish and economics, Roshni initially found the transition challenging. Her programme also featured a 4,000-word extended essay in chemistry, the theory of knowledge course, Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS). “Science was a bit challenging for me as I had science as a combined subject in class 10. After that, my teachers and parents motivated me and I took physics and chemistry as my two subjects in IB,” said Roshni Hamirwasia.

The result has earned Roshni an offer to pursue an integrated master’s degree in chemistry at Imperial College London.

Deepti Hamirwasia, Roshni’s mother, said, “I am very proud of her. She always had an attitude to achieve anything, whatever she has made up her mind on.” Rakesh, her father, said, “Along with Roshni, Rushil Chari and Bhavya Saraf from The Heritage School secured second (44/45) and third (41/45) positions, respectively.
