Kolkata: State govt has issued new rules for transferring and posting field-level officers .
Under the new rules, officers in sensitive posts, especially those handling revenue collection, will have to be transferred after two years in the same post. Even in exceptional cases, an officer can’t hold the same post for more than three years. For other field-level officers, the tenure can be normally three years and not extend beyond four years.
Officers will normally not be posted in their home district. An exception may be made for officers who are in the last two years before retirement.
