Kolkata: Morning walkers at Eco Diversity Park along VIP Road near Dum Dum on Thursday morning were shocked to find the body of a 38-year-old toto driver, hanging from a roadside railing of the park on Thursday morning.
Preliminary investigations suggest suicide, though the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination, police said who have started an unnatural death case.
Police identified the deceased as Amirul Molla, a resident of Haroa in North 24 Parganas. Morning walkers spotted the body hanging from the railing with a towel tied around his neck and alerted the Lake Town police, who recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.
A police officer said the victim had reportedly attempted suicide in the past.
