Kolkata: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation on Tuesday conducted physical verification of properties on Kalighat Road that are either owned or co-owned by Abhishek Banerjee, his family or his company. KMC buildings dept decided to conduct an on-the-spot survey of these properties after a hearing process was completed last week.
A lawyer representing Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee’s father, Amit Banerjee, on Friday attended a hearing at the KMC borough IX office that was arranged to take note of Banerjee’s view on alleged deviations in the construction of four flats that he or his family owns in the Kalighat Road area. The lawyer representing Banerjee argued that his client had no role in deviation of building rules since he is the owner of four different flats in four buildings and not the buildings.
According to a KMC source, the reports of the inspection will be submitted to the civic brass.
