Kolkata: A youth, Subhendu Mondal (25), died on Tuesday afternoon, being electrocuted by an exposed live wire while he was working on a pandal in the Muchipara area.
Subhendu was a resident of Dhanyakata village in Mandirbazar, South 24 Parganas.
Police said Subhendu, along with his father, Basudeb, and his brother, was setting up a pandal on P C Boral Street. Subhendu had climbed up an adjacent building, where he accidentally touched an exposed electric wire. In the impact, he was thrown onto the tin shed next door. He was taken to MCH, where he was declared “dead upon arrival”.
