Two on bike snatch mobile from pedestrian in Bowbazar

Kolkata: A College Street resident, Sumit Bose (55), was robbed of his cellphone as two men on a motorcycle snatched it from him near Lady Dufferin Victoria Hospital on Monday afternoon.
Bose was walking along Raja Rammohan Ray Sarani around 4 pm, speaking with his wife on his mobile, when the accused rode up behind him and snatched the high-end device from his hand and sped away. He lodged a complaint at the Muchipara Police Station.
The stolen device, said an officer, had been put on electronic surveillance. Police said they were scanning the footage of CCTV cameras on the hospital stretch as well as the adjacent intersections, trying to trace the bikers’ escape route and identify the bike’s registration number.
