Kolkata: The school education department on Monday issued guidelines for the serving of midday meals by the Annamitra Foundation under PM-POSHAN. The SOP said that meals should be delivered to the institutions by 8.30 am for morning schools and by 1.30 pm for day schools.
After reports from some schools about not receiving food on time or receiving inadequate meals on Monday, the department issued an SOP for both Iskcon and state-run schools. The SOP states that after submitting a requisition, no further request will be made to the foundation by the school to change the timing. Any necessary changes to timing must be submitted in writing through the nodal officer, stating the reason.
Food trucks have been instructed to follow a fixed route chart, and the foundation has been asked to ensure that the trucks adhere to it. Schools have been asked not to keep the trucks waiting.
