  • Kolkata: The state govt will hold a meeting with industry stakeholders on Aug 11 to discuss the proposed new industrial policy before it is placed before a group of ministers (GoM) and subsequently sent to the state cabinet for approval, state commerce and industries minister Tapas Roy said on Saturday.

The govt intends to incorporate the views and suggestions of industry representatives before finalising the policy, he added.

Speaking at an interactive session organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce, Roy said, “The stakeholder meeting will be held on Aug 11 at Nabanna Sabhaghar. This consultation would provide industry representatives an opportunity to offer suggestions before the policy moves into the final stages of approval.”

“You (industrialists) should be provided with immense respect. I urge all of you… please come and invest in Bengal,” the minister said.
