  • Kolkata: A total of 1,008 yajnas will be performed by Hindu groups across Bengal in Jan next year to pray for the reconversion of converted Hindus into Sanatani faith. The announcement came two days after Acharya Ramchandra Das, one of the organisers of the event, met CM Suvendu Adhikari.

Preparations for the mega event have already begun. As part of the ceremony, fire pits will be lit, Vedic mantras chanted and pledges taken about nation, religion and Sanatani society, said an organiser.

One of the pledges will be to bring back to Sanatani fold those who had converted to other faiths.

The organiser added that the CM had assured support to “all initiatives associated with Hindutva, Sanatan Dharma and Indian culture.”
