Min Swapan Dasgupta urges Deshapriya Park organisers to keep politics out of puja

Kolkata: State finance minister and Rasbehari MLA Swapan Dasgupta has urged organisers of the Deshapriya Park Durga Puja to resolve internal disputes among themselves and keep politics out of puja. A dispute over the management has stalled preparations for the 89th edition of the south Kolkata puja.
“If there are disputes among puja committees, the people associated with the puja should resolve it among themselves. Politics should not enter into this. Everything should be done in accordance with the law,” Dasgupta said in a Facebook video on Friday.
“After making inquiries, as per the information I have gathered, no pandal has been destroyed and nothing has been vandalised,” he said.
He also said that several puja committees have approached him to become their president which he has declined.
