Kolkata: Bike-borne goons allegedly opened fire at the home of Bhatpara businessman Rashid Khan on Saturday night over an alleged property dispute. Police are examining CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
According to police, two youths arrived at Rashid’s residence in 15 No. Gali, Kankinara, under ward 14 of Bhatpara Municipality, called out his name and allegedly kicked the door before firing at the house and neighbours. No injuries were reported.
Rashid’s wife, who was alone, alleged the family had earlier faced a bomb attack. “I was alone at home when they kicked the door. They later opened fire. They want to occupy the neighbouring housing complex,” she said.
“A case has been registered. The CCTV footage is being checked to trace and nab the accused,” Asim Khan, DCP, North, Barrackpore Commissionerate told TOI.
