• Territorial Army to host two-day army-civilian symposium in Kolkata

  • Kolkata: In a unique army-civilian interaction programme, the Territorial Army will host the two-day “TA-2.0 Symposium 2026” at Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium in Alipore on Aug 27 and 28. The seminar will bring together students, startups, industry leaders, academics and environmentalists to discuss national security, technology and nation-building.

    The event will highlight how professionals can serve the country through the Territorial Army while continuing their civilian careers, officials said.

    The symposium will focus five areas — army-industry partnerships, next-generation technology and startups, national security through collaboration, environmental conservation and youth outreach.

    A key focus will be technology and the role of Indian startups, researchers and industry in developing solutions for modern military requirements. The event will also showcase the Territorial Army’s Ecological Task Force, which works on afforestation, ecosystem restoration and environmental conservation.

    The first day will feature discussions on the Territorial Army’s evolving role in nation-building, a session titled ‘Towards Multidimensional Resilience’, exhibitions, a film screening of Know Your Territorial Army, MoU/MoA signings and a motivational evening.

    The second day will focus on sustainability, innovation, recruitment and leveraging civilian expertise for military capabilities. Lt Gen Rakesh Kapoor, AVSM, VS (Retd), will deliver the keynote address.
