IIT-Kgp Launches 2-day AI Programme At Houston Centre

Kolkata: IIT Kharagpur is expanding its academic footprint to the global stage with the launch of a two-day in-person Artificial Intelligence (AI) programme for engineers and scientists at its Houston outreach centre.
As the institute celebrates its platinum jubilee, the initiative signals a transition from 75 years of nation-building to a new era of global knowledge leadership.
The programme was inaugurated on Friday. A two-day boot camp for engineers and scientists will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
“The initiative assumes particular significance as Houston is one of two international locations, along with Dubai, where the IIT Kharagpur Board of Governors has approved in principle the establishment of strategic outreach centres,” said director Suman Chakraborty.
The boot camp is being offered in partnership with Texas AI Learning Centre. It requires no prior programming or data-science background. Participants will work hands-on with AI for technical writing, engineering calculations, research, design exploration and decision support and ultimately develop personalised AI workflows that can be deployed immediately in their professional set-ups.
