Kolkata: Bengal assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose on Friday said he would urge state MLAs to adopt a no-honking policy while driving cars. The Speaker has already been following the practice in his own vehicle.
Addressing an interactive session at Bharat Chamber of Commerce, Bose said: “I have already asked my driver not to honk while on the road. It is a wonderful practice in several countries and keeps noise pollution low.”
He added that legislators could also speak to others and inspire them to follow the policy.
