Kolkata: The state school education department will sign an MoU with NCERT to provide academic and technical guidance to state-run schools for implementing the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 at the school level.
“Through the support from the NCERT teachers will get all the technical support to take the framework down to the school level,” state school education minister Dipak Barman said.
Speaking at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Barman admitted that Bengal was ‘somewhat behind’ in implementing NEP 2020, but said the govt was making efforts to adopt the framework expeditiously.
He also said some private schools had not uploaded student data on the UDISE portal, leading to records showing schools with teachers but no students. He said the schools had been asked to update the data.
