Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Monday verbally asked the state not to take any action against TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee’s personal assistant Sumit Roy in four FIRs to be heard on Sept 10. The court also directed cops to file a report disclosing the cases filed against Roy.
Roy’s counsel told HC that new FIRs were being registered “almost every day”. He added that in one of the four cases, Roy was tagged as a co-accused along with Banerjee, who had been granted interim protection.
