Kolkata: The state govt has given the go-ahead to KMDA to build a promenade on the southern and western part of Subhas Sarobar, secure the banks of the waterbody, paint the kerb and pathway on the lake premises and re-construct a part of the boundary wall opposite Swabhumi.
KMDA has been working on a revival plan for the 98-acre lake premise off EM Bypass following an inspection by minister Agnimitra Paul, who called for a revamp and clean-up project. KMDA proposes to install benches with sheds, keep dust bins, develop a children’s park, colour the paver blocks, earmark a yoga zone and install a new lighting system. “Maintaining cleanliness of the lake premises is of utmost importance,” said an official.
