Kolkata: Greater investment is needed in research and innovation, feels former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. He pointed out that the govt already invested in AI innovation. Now India should focus on the development of a circular economy.
The former President spoke at the curtain-raiser ceremony of the 125th anniversary of MCCI. He added that 25 crore people came out of poverty in the last 1 decade, and India doubled its economy in the last few years.
He emphasised that MSMEs must move from being small suppliers to becoming globally competitive and export-oriented. Kovind added that India must be a digital leader and not merely an adopter. India should be a global hub for data, AI and next-generation technologies.
"Building a developed India is a collective responsibility. The private sector must lead this endeavour by driving investments and creating employment opportunities," Kovind said. MSID:: 128753201 413 |
