Train diversions, cancellations to end before puja
Times of India | 9 September 2026While Duronto will be diverted on Sept 25, Poorva Express will be diverted on eight days between Sept 20 and Oct 2. The Howrah-Kathgodam Bagh Express will be diverted from Sept 29 to Oct 3 and Howrah-Dehradun Upasana Express on four days between Sept 22 and Oct 2.
All the rerouting and cancellations will be over before puja holidays.
A social media post by the divisional railway manager, Howrah, said the diversions would increase travel durations but were necessary to facilitate pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking work for improvement and advancement of the network. “The work will increase safety and make trains faster,” he said.
Howrah-Patna Special Fare SF special on Sept 27 will be cancelled. Howrah-Mokama Express and Howrah-Jaynagar Express will not run between Sept 20 and Oct 3. Howrah-Raxaul Express will be cancelled on Sept 25 and 30, and Oct 2 and Howrah-Darbhanga Weekly Express on Sept 26 and Oct 3. Howrah-Muzaffarpur Jan Sadharan Express will not run on Sept 30.
