2 arrested for attempting to breach chief minister Suvendu Adhikari’s convoy on VIP Road

Kolkata: Police on Tuesday night arrested two youths, whose car reportedly attempted to breach the chief minister’s security convoy on the New Town-bound flank of VIP Road near Haldiram. The car came at a high speed and ignored traffic lights, said a Baguiati PS officer.
Officers intercepted the car soon after. The occupants of the car, Md Kaif Ansari (27) and Md Amanand Ansari (21), both originally from Asansol, were detained. Police said the person at the wheel appeared drunk, used abusive language and threatened officers on duty.
