2 die after drinking bout in Joynagar
Times of India | 11 September 2026Three men were taken to Padmerhat Hospital after they fell ill following the drink. While Sanjoy Halder was declared brought dead, the other two were shifted to Baruipur subdivisional hospital, where another died.
A preliminary probe revealed that the trio had earlier consumed liquor purchased from a licensed FL shop near Baharu. Later, while sitting near a poultry farm, they allegedly consumed an unidentified liquid from a bottle lying there.
