Mukesh, son Anant to visit Bengal, says Suvendu
Times of India | 13 September 2026Speaking at a programme in Kolkata, Adhikari said he had spoken to Anant, who, according to CM, assured him he would visit Bengal along with his father. “I have spoken to Anant Ambani. He and his father are coming to Bengal. They will invest in Bengal and work on data centres and a semiconductor hub,” Adhikari said.
The CM said the foundation stone for a 2,000-bed hospital by Adani Group would be laid on Sept 24 in New Town, where Gautam Adani would be present.
Adhikari invited industrialists and business groups to invest in Bengal, asserting that the new govt was working to create a conducive business environment through new policies and incentives.
“We are working, in a short span, on an industrial policy, the industrial land policy, the Land Ceiling Act, incentives and other investor-related measures. The roadmap is being prepared and we will launch it soon,” the CM said.
Adhikari said govt’s focus was on attracting industry and fresh investments, which would help create employment opportunities and address unemployment among educated youth. He also sought feedback from industrialists on their experience of doing business in Bengal during the four months of BJP govt.
Adhikari said the BJP-led govt’s immediate priority was to ensure that the benefits of development programmes being implemented jointly by Centre and the state and reached every person in Bengal.
The CM reiterated that state govt would soon hand over land for 33 industrial projects.
