  • KOLKATA: Probing into the Rajarhat suicide pact, in which a 51-year-old businessman killed his wife, attempted to slit his teenage daughter's throat and then hanged himself, cops are questioning those who owed money from the trader to know if someone had pressurised him.

"In the suicide note there is mention of some persons who could have pressurized the businessman to return money. We are tracking them down," said a senior officer of Bidhannagar City Police.

Sagar Mukherjee and his wife Rupa were found dead at their flat in a Narayanpur complex while their daughter, a class X student, is still in a critical state.

Police said the family members had consumed sleeping pills in the early hours of Saturday but failed in their mission forcing the trader to choose a more violent end in the afternoon leaving a suicide note with signatures of all three of them.

"He too lent money to some people and asked them to return the money but none had responded. We are trying to trace them as well," said an officer.
