Asked to give her reaction on the matter, the chief minister, during a news conference at the state secretariat, said: “The matter is under investigation. I will not comment.”

On Monday, without referring to the attack on ED officials at Sandeshkhali, the chief minister had said that those questioning law and order situation were trying to malign the state and she would not accept the negative portrayal of Bengal without a fight.

“I am not bothered about criticisms against me. But I will protest if anyone tries to malign the state. Those questioning the law-and-order situation are trying to malign the state,” she had said.

Chief Secy, Home Secy meet Governor

State Chief Secretary BP Gopalika and Home Secretary Nandini Chakraborty on Thursday met Governor CV Ananda Bose at Raj Bhavan. The Governor had summoned the two top officials of the state government to brief him on the Sandeshkhali incident in which a team of ED officials was attacked by a mob.
