Kolkata: The Kolkata Police (KP) closed the tender for renovation of Charu Market Police Station, which had invited bids separate bids for each of its three floors, on Saturday. The tender included bids for designing, planning and elevation drawing. The existing building on Deshapran Sashmal Road near the Rabindra Sarobar Metro station is unable to accommodate large number of police personnel and is in dire need of revamp. However, if the remodeling plan fails to take off, Lalbazar indicated that the police station may have to be shifted to a different location. “The funds for the renovation have been granted,” said a police source at Lalbazar.
