• School showcases diverse art forms on sports day

  • Kolkata: Asian International School held its ninth annual sports meet recently on the theme of ‘Empowered India’. The chief guest was Lakshmi Ananda Bose, the First Lady of Bengal. Among the dignitaries present were the director of AIS, Alok Sharma, and principal Vijaylaxmi Kumar.

    The release of a cascade of Tri-coloured balloons marked the commencement of the sports meet.

    Apart from the track and field events, a cultural extravaganza showcased India’s diverse art forms. These included the rhythmic beats of Odisha’s Dhaap dance, Bagurumba from Assam, Mizo Cheraw representing Mizoram, Rajput Talwar skills from Rajasthan and Gulabi dance from Uttar Pradesh.
