India records 180 fresh Covid-19 cases, active caseload at 2,804

India has logged a single-day rise of fresh 180 Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, whereas the active caseload dipped to 2,804, data shared by Union Health Ministry informed on Tuesday. Three deaths have been reported from Maharashtra in 24-hour span. In the wake of the recent spike of coronavirus cases, doctors and other medical professionals have once more emphasized practicing mask wearing and hand hygiene.Ever since the pandemic began in 2020, a total of 4.5 crore people have been infected and over 5.3 lakh people died nationwide. So far, 220.67 doses of covid-19 vaccines have been administered across the country. The emergence of coronavirus JN.1 sub-variant and cold weather conditions have contributed to the spike in recent cases.
