Kolkata: Nearly 250 professors assembled in front of the statue of Triguna Sen, the first VC of Jadavpur University, to protest against the deadlock condition in the university due to the impasse over the VC status.
They wore black badges and demanded immediate appointment of a regular VC to save the university. JUTA general secretary Partha Pratim Ray said, “It is an attempt to destroy public-funded education system. We hope this demonstration will help us reach out to the society to save universities.” tnn
