Kolkata: A 63-year-old woman with multiple comorbidities, who had also tested positive for Covid, died at the Beliaghata ID Hospital on Sunday. The state health department, however, has not counted it as a case of Covid death. Officially, only one death has been attributed to Covid during the current spike.
Manju Das, a Dum Dum resident, was admitted to the hospital on Jan 8 in a serious condition. She was suffering from several conditions, including diabetes, chronic liver and kidney issues. During investigation, doctors found her to be Covid-positive. Doctors said she died of multi-organ failure. tnn
