“The minimum temperature will hover around 12 degrees Celsius on Tuesday as well,” said an official at Alipore’s Regional Meteorological Centre.

Meanwhile, mercury levels in Darjeeling plummeted to 2.8 degrees Celsius making it among the coldest among districts, followed by Cooch Behar (6.1 degrees Celsius) and Purulia (7.1 degrees Celsius).

The Met office said that there are chances of snowfall and rain in the hill district on Tuesday.
