Bengal: Mamata Banerjee sustains minor injury on her forehead, arm following an accident
Telegraph | 25 January 2024
Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee sustained a minor injury on her forehead and arm following a sudden application of brakes in her vehicle while leaving the administrative meeting at East Burdwan district this afternoon.
Banerjee was sitting in the front seat beside the driver when an external vehicle suddenly came in front of the chief minister’s convoy, forcing Banerjee’s driver to apply the brakes abruptly.
Bad weather conditions in south Bengal disallowed the chief minister to return to Calcutta on the chopper and she decided to take the road instead.
The accident, however, did not deter the leader from continuing her onward journey to Calcutta by road.
Banerjee is currently undergoing treatment on her left knee following the injury she sustained during an emergency landing of her chopper at the Sevoke Air Base in Siliguri in June last year.
