• Three CBI officers from Kolkata awarded the President's Police Medal

  • KOLKATA: A CBI inspector with the anti-corruption branch in Kolkata, who has been investigating Ponzi cases, will be awarded the President's Police medal for Meritorious Service. The inspector—Rahul Kumar, who has been investigating the Ponzi firms over the past couple of years has been involved with some crucial breakthroughs in the probe.

    Kumar, who had been involved with the Ponzi probe, was also roped into the investigation of the Rose Valley Ponzi probe.In the past couple of years, he had submitted four charge sheets in the Ponzi probe and made three crucial arrests based on the investigation.

    Mayukh Maitra, ASP of the surveillance unit, Kolkata will receive the Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Srinivas Pillari, principal system analyst with the CBI Kolkata will also receive the President's Police medal for Meritorious Service.
