He also shed light on constitutional provisions that safeguard these rights and emphasized the “crucial role” played by the National Commission for Scheduled Castes in this regard. “I request the state government to support the National Commission for Scheduled Castes to help people.

There is a need to extend help to those deprived of constitutional rights,” said Halder. He said people should take advantage of the Commission by lodging grievances.
