Kabir Suman admitted to hosp with respiratory distress

Kolkata: Musician and former MP Kabir Suman was admitted to Medical College Hospital Kolkata on Monday afternoon. Sources in the hospital said the 74-year-old is admitted in the critical care unit and his condition is being monitored closely. A four-member medical team has been formed to supervise the treatment of the former Trinamool Congress MP.
He was brought to the state-run medical college around 3pm on Monday with complaints of respiratory distress.Sources in the hospital said the musician is conscious but requires oxygen support.
“A four-member medical team comprising specialists, including in critical care medicine, chest, internal medicine and cardiology, has been formed. All necessary medical care will be taken under the team’s supervision. He is admitted in the critical care unit,” said an official at the hospital.
The official said that several investigative tests are also being conducted for the proper course of treatment.
