Kolkata: Three days after a 22-year-old trader from Azadgarh near Regent Park, was reportedly kidnapped from outside a bar at Kabardanga crossing in Haridevpur, police are now certain that at least two of the accused were hired on that day.
“During the investigation, we were informed that the prime accused might have fled from the state. The three men arrested so far have claimed they were hired to execute the crime and asked to carry their own weapons.We are investigating if they were paid in advance or convinced to wait for the ransom amount of Rs 20 lakh to reach the main accused,” said an officer even as cops are raiding multiple places in Bihar and Jharkhand.
