• Keep answer scripts safe from pets, heat: Board

  • Kolkata: Madhyamik examiners have been alerted by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education to safely preserve answer scripts from pets, pests, moisture and heat.

    This year, the Madhyamik examinations ended on February 12 and the answer scripts have started being distributed to examiners.

    The notice issued on Friday reads, “Please ensure the safe custody and care while in transmit and journey with the packets of answer scripts from the respective distribution camp office.Any dereliction in safety and care may result in most undesirable consequences, jeopardizing the candidates as well as for the examiner concerned, not to mention the distress and disrepute in public.”

    Earlier, there were several cases of mishandling of answer scripts by examiners.

    A board official said, “All examiners have been alerted to be careful about the answer scripts. It is a matter of great importance to candidates and their future.”

    A section of teachers’ organisations said the notice has been issued to increase pressure on the examiners.
