• Concentration, routine key to success, says Bengal student who scored 99.99 percentile in JEE mains

  • A dedicated daily routine comprising six to eight hours of studies, with self-discipline and concentration – are some of the aspects that 17-year-old Irradri Basu Khaund attributed to his success in JEE Mains.

    Khaund, who recently became the JEE Main 2024 West Bengal topper after he secured 99.9934104 percentile in the exam, said, “One has to study a lot. The students cannot afford to lose focus. Deep concentration and focus is needed to achieve good marks,” he said.

    Khaund who hails from Siliguri in north Bengal, studied at Delhi Public School, Dagapur, in Siliguri till Class 10 and pursued Class 12 from Darjeeling Public School, as it was convenient for his JEE training schedule.

    Khaund wants to pursue Mathematics in his higher studies and said that he maintained a strict schedule while preparing for JEE Mains examination. “My routine for the last two years was quite strict. The lock-down years also prepared me for the schedule that I had to maintain before taking the JEE Main,” he said.

    During his free hours, he reads books, especially thrillers and plays sports including online chess. The student said besides studying, he also reads story books and plays sports.

    Sharing his routine and schedule with students preparing for competitive exams, Khaund said, a strict routine, self-discipline and self-study are factors that contribute to overall success.

    The JEE Main 2024 results were declared last month.
