Setback to ruling TMC? Calcutta HC allows BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari to visit Sandeshkhali today

KOLKATA: The Calcutta high court granted permission to state leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari to visit Sandeshkhali, but without his supporters. Section 144 has been imposed in 5 locations in Sandeshkhali.
Adhikari decided to approach the high court after he was prevented from visiting Sandeshkhali for a second time by the police administration on Thursday.
Police stopped him at Rampur's Naskarpara, located 4km from Sandeshkhali, citing concerns that his visit might incite villagers to gather in large numbers and worsen the tension.
