  • WEST BENGAL’S Minister for Information and Technology Babul Supriyo on Saturday appealed to people to invest in Bengal and contribute towards making the state the “next IT hub of the country.”

Babul Supriyo was speaking at the 35th edition of ‘Technology Sabha’ in Kolkata on Friday. “The West Bengal government aspires to see Bengal transform into the country’s IT hub. If you are thinking of building your hub, please do so in Bengal. The Bengal government will serve you in the right manner. I feel Gurgaon, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru are supersaturated, Kolkata is not. Kolkata has great manpower and skilled people. We have trained and skilled youngsters. There is no reason why we shouldn’t convert it into the next IT hub,” said Supriyo.

“In India, Bengalis are ruling the IT arena. But many people shift to other countries and do great. We want to stop that. Why can’t Bengalis stay in Kolkata and work here, enjoy its delicious food? In order to accomplish that, we want you to identify Kolkata as the next stop for IT,” he added.
