Kolkata: The IIEST Teachers’ Association has written to Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, urging him to expedite appointment of the regular director at IIEST, Shibpur.
“The process of appointing a regular director was initiated more than a year ago, in December 2022…The delay in finalizing this appointment is hindering the institute’s progress and jeopardizing its standing as a premier engineering and technology institute in our country,” the letter said.
Tapendu Mandal, secretary of the teachers’ association, said, “The teaching community is deeply concerned about the prolonged absence of a regular director, which has led to stalemates in the functioning of our institute.” tnn
