Kolkata: An app cab driver on Monday night returned a bag containing gold jewellery, worth Rs 3.5 lakh, to its owner who had left it behind in the vehicle.
Smarajit Sarkar and his family, returning from a wedding, boarded the cab from Howrah station. It was only after they got off at Kestopur that they realized that they had left their luggage behind.Sarkar reported the incident to the Baguiati police station.
A cop said, “We got in touch with the app-cab aggregator and retrieved the driver’s number.” Timely action by the cops ensured the family got back their bag with valuables in less than two hours. tnn
