Abhijit Gangopadhyay visits Tamluk on Tuesday to get feel of his possible 'battleground'

Abhijit Gangopadhyay’s candidacy has not been announced yet but the former judge of Calcutta High Court visited Tamluk on Tuesday to get a feel of his possible "battleground".
Guided by leader of the Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari, the potential BJP candidate also visited Nandigram.
In response to enquiries about the possibility of the BJP fielding him from Tamluk, Gangopadhyay said: "There are some rumours, but I don't have any information. I cannot comment until my name is officially announced."
“I shall come back on March 14 and then tell a lot of things,” he told BJP supporters in front of the Nandigram martyrs' column.
BJP insiders said the party would announce his candidature and Gangopadhyay might start his election campaign from Nandigram on March 14, which is observed as Martyrs' Day.
On Tuesday morning, Gangopadhyay arrived at Tamluk, surrounded by enthusiastic BJP supporters expressing their joy. At 11am, BJP workers in Tamluk organised a motorbike rally and brought Gangopadhyay to the BJP office in Tamluk where he was welcomed by Adhikari with a scarf. The BJP leader then took the former judge to the organisational district office accompanied by party leaders and workers.
Gangopadhyay then proceeded to the Devi Bargabhima temple, where he performed prayers. He then headed directly to Nandigram.
