• Robotic device to treat prostate conditions hits Indian hospitals

  • KOLKATA: Medical technology company Sonablate launched Sonablate HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) technology at top hospitals in India. This minimally invasive robotic device targets prostate conditions with precision, reducing collateral damage to healthy tissues.

    The technology was recently unveiled at medical institutions such as the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai and the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre in Delhi.

    NovoMed Incorporation Pvt Ltd is the authorized distributor of the device, that ensures its accessibility to patients across the country.

    Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital's Dr Yuvaraja cited successful procedures and swift recoveries through this technology. "Its numerous advantages, including minimal postoperative discomfort, shorter recovery periods, and reduced risk of complications compared to conventional treatments," Dr Yuvaraja said.

    Dr Sudhir Rawal of Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute also highlighted its user-friendliness and minimal discomfort for patients, who experienced a speedy recovery.
