• Med board to assess plaint by 21 women

  • Kolkata: The West Bengal Clinical Establishment Regulatory Commission (WBCERC) has constituted a high-power medical board to examine the damage caused by post-surgical infection in 21 women, who had undergone the procedure at a Beharampur nursing home.

    The health panel will then decide on the compensation amount to be paid by the nursing home.

    According to a complaint lodged by these women, they underwent either C-section or hysterectomy in Roychowdury Nursing Home between Oct and Nov, 2022.But each developed infection after they were discharged and are still undergoing treatment. The board will visit Beharampur, said justice (retd) Ashim Kumar Banerjee, chairman of the health panel
