The workers who were clearing the bushy vegetation near the canal noticed the ‘undamaged’ blood-stained bag in New Town area at 7 am.

The identity of the deceased is not yet known, said a police officer with the Techno City station.

The police came to the spot and sent the body for autopsy.

According to officials, the investigation is likely to get complex as the locality is quite deserted and is not under the CCTV surveillance camera.

Prima facie, the police suspect that the body has been dumped into the canal by those who are well aware of the geography of the area.

Techno City police station has started an investigation into the incident.
