  • Kolkata: The Border Security Force (BSF) at Gede on Friday seized nearly 7 kg gold worth Rs 4.7 crore when smugglers tried to sneak into India from Bangladesh. The consignment was headed for Kolkata. BSF personnel have arrested four persons, including the dealer who came to collect the consignment. According to BSF sources, the seized items include 20 gold biscuits and eight pieces of gold bricks.

    BSF sources said three women came to Mayurhat Halt railway station with the gold.BSF jawans nabbed them when they were about to hand it over to the dealer. The women are from Majherpara in Nadia while the dealer is from Chandpur.
