Kolkata: Cops have arrested Mohd Safaraz, the kingpin of mule accounts in Khardaha, on Friday. Around 20 accounts, which were indirectly being used by him, were frozen.
“The cyber police detective department had raided some call centres earlier this month. Following leads from the suspects, another individual from Khardaha was apprehended on Friday.This accused had allegedly gathered accounts from the poor, which he had hired on rent and exchanged them for money. Equipments and vital evidence has been confiscated in this regard,” said joint CP (crime) Syed Waquar Raza.
Sources claimed the accused were part of fake call centres that offered fake lottery tickets online and duped several people. tnn
