• Flight diverted from Dhaka lands in Kol

  • Kolkata: A Dhaka-bound Air Asia flight, carrying 138 passengers and 7 cabin crew members from Kuala Lumpur, made an emergency landing at Kolkata airport.

    Airport officials said the flight couldn’t land at Dhaka airport due to inclement weather in Bangladesh on Sunday.

    After it hovered for some time, the captain sought permission from Kolkata ATC for the landing .The flight flew back to Bangladesh after waiting at bay number 106. On Sunday, three flights to Guwahati were diverted to Kolkata airport because of inclement weather and poor visibility there. Air India Express flight from Imphal landed with 156 passengers and 6 cabin crew members. An Air India flight from Imphal landed with 166 passengers and 6 cabin crew members and an IndiGo flight from Bhubaneswar touched down with 166 passengers and 6 cabin crew members. All three flights flew back to Guwahati after the weather improved.
