• Christian leaders to send memorandum to President Murmu, PM Modi and Mamata against communal violence

  • Expressing concerns regarding the escalating anti-Christian activities in states across the country in the recent years, the Bangiya Christiya Pariseba (BCP) in collaboration with — All India Christian Council, National Christian Council and United Christian Forum, New Delhi, – convened a meeting in Kolkata on Wednesday.  Attendees, who gathered at the Mahatma Gandhi Statue on Mayo Road, lamented the rise of organised anti-church hate campaigns, dissemination of false propaganda, brutal attacks targeting priests and Christian institutions, occurring predominantly in the states of Manipur, Chhattisgarh,  Madhya Pradesh.

    They drafted a memorandum, addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, PM Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, urging their intervention to stop such activities.

    Pastor Solomon Khyouchi of Manipur Baptist Convention said, “A prolonged communal conflict persists in our state, with little action to address it… Our focus is on  restoration of peace, love…”
